Matt was appointed President and CEO of Marathon Gold in August 2019. He has over 25 years in mining exploration, project development, construction and operation. The Valentine Gold Project is the third mine development project he has been involved in.

Matt was previously the President and CEO of Stornoway Diamond Corporation where he led the C$947M project financing for the Renard Diamond Mine in north central Quebec and oversaw its successful construction and ramp-up.

Prior to Stornoway (and its predecessor companies), Matt was employed by Aber Diamond Corporation (subsequently Dominion Diamond Corporation) as Vice-President, Marketing, and thereafter Vice-President, Technical Services and Control, during which time he participated in the US$230m project financing for the Diavik Diamond Mine and oversaw Aber’s technical and marketing operations during Diavik’s construction, ramp-up and operation.

In 2015, Matt was awarded the Viola Macmillan Award by the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada, and in 2017 he was the Northern Miner Mining Person of the Year and the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year (Mining and Energy, Quebec). Matt is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh (B.Sc. Geophysics, 1987) and the University of Toronto (Ph.D. Geology, 1996).

MacMillan Award from the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) for individuals demonstrating leadership in management and financing for the exploration and development of mineral resources. Mark Clark has 28 years experience in corporate advisory and public company management.

He was a director of successful Australian gold miner Equigold from April 2003 and was Managing Director from December 2005 until Equigold’s $1.2 billion merger with Lihir Gold in June 2008. He was closely involved in the development and operation of Equigold’s gold mines in both Australia and Ivory Coast.

Mark was appointed Managing Director of Regis Resources in May 2009 and Executive Chairman in November 2016. He retired as an executive of Regis in October 2018. Mark oversaw the development of Regis’ three operating gold mines at the Duketon Gold Project, which culminated in the project producing well over 300,000 ounces of gold per annum.

In Mark’s time at Regis, the company grew from a small explorer with a market capitalisation of around $40 million to the significant gold producer it is today with a market capitalisation in the order of $2.5 billion. Mark is well known in the industry for his strong financial stewardship and focus on delivering shareholder returns.

Jim is a Mining Engineer with a broad range of strategic, operating and start-up experience encompassing 30 years across a number of commodities including gold, copper, uranium, lead, zinc and iron ore. He has extensive gold industry experience having been the General Manager of the Boddington Gold Mine, one of Australia’s largest gold mines, from 2007 to 2010 and General Manager of the Pajingo Gold Mine from 2004 to 2006.

Mr. Lewins is a Mineral Engineer with over 35 years’ experience in the mining industry. He has previously worked in Africa, Australia, Asia, North America and the former Soviet Union. Mr. Smallwood holds a geological engineering degree from the University of British Columbia, and a mine engineering diploma from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Mr. Smallwood was involved in the founding of Wheaton Precious Metals and in 2007, he joined Wheaton full time as Executive Vice President of Corporate Development, primarily focusing on growing the Company through the evaluation and acquisition of streaming opportunities. Mr. Hinchcliffe has over 25 years working in the mining industry and has been directly involved in capital raises and transactions in excess of $600 million. Mr. Hinchcliffe founded Galway Resources in 2005 and went on to raise over $100 million and successfully negotiate the sale to AUX for $340 million and establish two new, well capitalized, spinout companies. Prior to that, he worked as Chief Financial Officer of Kirkland Lake Gold, wherein the company raised over $50 million in funds to re-commission the Kirkland Lake Gold Mine. Kirkland Lake currently has a market value of approximately CDN$500 million and produces approximately 150,000 ounces per year. He also worked for seven years on Wall Street as a Mining Analyst for Prudential Securities, SG Cowen, and Santander Investment, covering U.S., International, and Latin American mining companies, in addition to other sectors. Prior to that he spent 4 years working for Jordex Resources in Venezuela where he played a primary role in the identification and then development of a nickel deposit which was later sold for $65 million to Anglo American.

Mr. Hinchcliffe has a M.B.A. from Georgetown University, and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Arizona (with a concentration in Mining & Geology). Mr. Hinchcliffe is also fluent in Spanish.

Mr. Bee is a senior mining industry executive, with deep mine development and operational experience. He has an extensive career advancing world-class gold mining projects in eight countries on three continents for both major and junior mining companies. Most recently in 2018 Mr. Bee concluded a third term with Barrick Gold as Senior VP Frontera District in Chile and Argentina to advance Pascua Lama feasibility as an underground mine. This capped a 16-year history with Barrick Gold with positions that included Mine Manager at Goldstrike during early development and operations, Operations Manager at Pierina Mine taking Pierina from construction to operations, and General Manager of Veladero developing the project from advanced exploration through permitting, feasibility and into production.

This led to his appointment to various board and leadership positions at various companies. As COO of Aurelian Resources in 2007, he was in charge of project development for Fruta del Norte in Ecuador until Aurelian was acquired by Kinross Gold in 2008. Post-acquisition, moving on from Kinross, where he had also previously worked from 1996 to 1998 advancing projects in El Salvador and Nevada, he joined Andina Minerals as CEO in 2009. Andina and its 6 million-ounce Volcan Gold Project in Chile was acquired by Hochschild in 2013. By this time Mr. Bee had been appointed to the boards of Peregrine Metals and later Stillwater Mining and Jaguar Mining. In 2014, he also assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer of Jaguar Mining, operating mines in Brazil, as the company emerged from a financial restructuring process.

At the industry level, he held the position of First Vice President of the Ghana Chamber of Mines and concurrently served as a member of the Governing Council of the Private Enterprise Federation of Ghana (PEF). He has also served as President of the Canada Ghana Chamber of Commerce which is focused on building bilateral private sector relationships between Ghana and Canada.

Mr. Attakumah holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (Ghana) and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Henley Business School (UK).

Mr. Grygorcewicz has over 30 years financial management experience, gained within Australian (ASX) and Singapore (SGX) listed mineral and contracting companies. In the CFO position, he has successfully transitioned numerous junior mineral explorers into substantial mineral producers, with operations spanning Australia and Southeast Asia.

Most recently, he was a key member of the Cardinal Resources Limited, 5 million oz Namdini Gold deposit development team, prior to its purchase by Shandong Gold for more than USD$500M. Prior development experience was gained in transitioning junior explorer Focus Minerals Ltd. to a 150,000 oz pa gold producer within the space of four years on multiple underground and open pit mining operations; and at Venture Minerals Ltd. in developing their Riley iron ore mine and tin/tungsten deposits.

Mr. Blasutti was the President and CEO of US Silver & Gold prior to its merger with Americas Silver Corporation (formerly Scorpio Mining Corporation). He was formerly the President and Chief Executive Officer of RX Gold & Silver Inc. and prior to that Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for Barrick Gold Corporation ("Barrick"). He reported to the Chief Executive Officer and played a lead role in the strategic development of Barrick for 13 years between 1998 and early 2011, during which time he executed over 25 gold mining transactions including the acquisitions of Homestake Mining Company and Placer Dome Inc. and the consolidation of the world class Cortez property from Rio Tinto. Mr. Blasutti also led the creation of Barrick Energy Inc. to hedge Barrick's exposure to energy prices and the initial public offering of African Barrick Gold. During his tenure at Barrick, Mr. Blasutti was integrally involved in numerous equity and financing transactions and also led the Investor Relations function. Mr. Blasutti was previously at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where he planned, supervised and managed audits for a variety of clients.

About Diane Garrett

Diane joined Hycroft in late 2020 and brings with her over 20 years of senior executive management experience in the mining industry with an exceptional track record for developing projects and building companies. Ms. Garrett was President, CEO and Director of Romarco Minerals Inc. where she built and led the team that developed the multi-million ounce Haile Gold Mine from discovery through to final feasibility, permitting and construction. Romarco was subsequently acquired by OceanaGold in 2015 and Ms. Garrett was appointed to the Board of OceanaGold and a member of the Steering Committee for the Haile Gold Mine. Ms. Garrett was most recently the President and Chief Executive Officer of Nickel Creek Platinum Corp. (NCP), a mining exploration and development company, since June 2016. Ms. Garrett is also a Director of NovaGold Resources Inc., a gold company listed on the NYSE American and Toronto Stock Exchange. Prior to her time at Romarco, Ms. Garrett held numerous senior positions in public mining companies including VP of Corporate Development at Dayton Mining Corporation and VP of Corporate Development at Beartooth Platinum Corporation. Early in her career, Ms. Garrett was the Senior Mining Analyst and Portfolio Manager in the precious metals sector with US Global Investors. Ms. Garrett has also served as a director of TriStar Gold, Inc. and Revival Gold Inc. Ms. Garrett received her Ph.D. in Engineering and her Masters in Mineral Economics from the University of Texas at Austin.
